The main man behind some of the world’s leading electronic labels, the quality renowned “Ready Mix Records”, “Haute Musique”, “Tiny Lamp”, “StereoTrip”, “Itom Records” and “Empty Whisky Flask Records” knows no compromise when it comes to perpetuating musical excellence, authenticity and ingenuity. As the founder and partner in the production teams known as, Beat Factory, Audio Lab, The Suppliers, Harlem Knights and Soul Collective, BiG AL has unleashed his musical talent with originals and remixes on great labels such as GU, Baroque, Armada, Ministry of Sound, Plastic City, Alola, SexOnWax, i!Records, King Street, Soulman Music, Lucidflow and Night Drive Music to name but a few.
His productions are played and loved by Sasha, Sander Kleinenberg, Nick Warren, Roger Sanchez, Angel Moraes, Behrouz, Desyn Masiello, Hernan Cattaneo, Dave Seaman, Omid 16B and the list goes on. He has remixed tracks for John Creamer & Stephane K, Joeski, Babak Shayan, Stan Kolev, Onur Ozman, Eelke Kleijn, Sebastian Davidson, Klartaum, Helly Larson, Ejeca, Lonya and Chriss Ronson amongst many others.
Thanks to his technical savvy and artistry in the studio, he was the personal programming & sound engineer for the legendary NYC Artist Angel Moraes (Hot N’ Spycy) as well as the mastering engineer for all promotional music material coming out of the world renowned club Stereo in Montreal which included mastered CD’s for the likes of Frankie Knuckles (RIP), David Morales, Hector Romero, Chus & Ceballos and a great deal more.
His studio talents are incontestable, but he is perhaps best known as a master behind the decks; an up-lifter, an inspirational educator and a creative visionary when it comes to DJing. He was selected as one of Montreal’s Top 3 Beat Masters in the “Hour Magazine” in 2002, won a JPF Award in 1999 for the best song on a mixed compilation and was selected by the Lebanese Daily Star Magazine in 2001 as a leading/pioneering DJ/Producer with Middle-Eastern roots. But these marks of recognition are pale compared to the actual experience of being on one of his dancefloors for an Extended 12+ set. Some of his past and current residencies include Amika Dubai (2011-2013), Cubes Abu Dhabi (2009-2010), Iris Beach Club Beirut (2013), Jai Bar Montreal (1999-2001), Groove Society Montreal (1999-2003), Living Montreal (2002-2005), 5 Years (2006-2011) at Cherry Montreal, 5 Years at B018 Beirut (2007-2012), 7 Years (2006 – 2013) at Circus HD Afterhours Montreal, and 5 Years (2000-2005) at the world renowned Stereo in Montreal. In addition, AL also served as the Talent Buyer and the Artist Relations Director and was responsible for all DJ / Artist bookings, scheduling, event organization, nightly planning and music programming at Stereo Montreal for 3 years (2002-2005), B018 Beirut for 3 years (2009 – 2012) and Cubes Abu Dhabi for 1 Year (2009 – 2010).
BiG AL also hosts the global edition of the Ready Mix Sessions events in (Beirut, Miami, Montreal, Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Amman and Casablanca) along with the internationally broadcasted radio show and podcast which is syndicated to air on several international radio stations including the award winning Proton Radio (USA). He has played all over the world from L.A. to London, New York to Ibiza, Dubai to Miami, Beirut to Casablanca and around. His vibe is diffused universally across barriers of language and cultures. His most recent appearances include the Renaissance Event in Beirut playing alongside Satoshi Tomiie, The Creamfields Festival 2009, 2010, 2011 & 2012 in Abu Dhabi with the likes of Sasha, David Guetta, Sebastien Leger, Marco Carola, Erick Morillo, Deadmau5, Underworld, Laid Back Luke, Desyn Masiello and Calvin Harris, the Circus Event in Beirut alongside Steve Lawler, The Gatecrasher event in Beirut alongside Anthony Pappa, The Poliakov Events with Cosmic Gate and Nick Warren respectively, the “Full on Ferry” event with Ferry Corsten, the Electric Sundown Events alongside Lee Burridge, Chus & Ceballos, Audiofly, Hunter/Game, ClockWork and Guti, and the Creamfields 2013 in Beirut, Lebanon alonside Richie Hawtin, Seth Troxler, Maceo Plex, Loco Dice, The Watergate (Berlin) event in Beirut alongside Ellen Alien, Matthias Meyer, The Forestronika 5 Day Festival 2014 and a great deal more…
